The Pixar Pier

Filled with anticipation and excitement, Poison Ivy could barely contain her mischievous smile. She had made jury in BBQ11 and was about to enter the Pixar Pier for the first time. This magical fair had been off limits until now. Arisa had described wonderous tales of fortune and coins that could be earned here, and Poison can finally test her luck.
As she walked towards the pier with her other houseguests, a figure stood at the front of the pier waving for them to come. It was Justin Bieber! He had a giant grin from ear to ear and congratulated all the remaining houseguests on their accomplishment of making this far in the competition. He gave each houseguest 2 free tokens to play any game they wanted, but additional tokens would be $25 BBQ each. Immediately, Stephanie tried to sell her tokens to coins, but Justin did not allow it. “Just try one game, Steph.” Justin said with a playful look in his eyes.
All the houseguests ran off in their little cliques in different directions in wonder at all the different games. Poison watched in disgust as Megara stuck her head into a bowl of noodles to find a token hidden inside. “I hope she drowns in there,” Poison thought to herself. To her disappointment, Meg found the token and won a giant stuffed aardvark plushie.
She walked down the pier alone. She didn’t want others to suspect her relationships with the other houseguests. They all thought she was alone in the house and wanted it to stay that way. She walked up to a shining purple booth with a giant neon sign that read Zurg’s Zap and Blast. Sounds of lasers and cymbals crashing filled her ears. Theodora seemed to magically appear from behind the counter with a larger than life smile on her face. “Would you like to play, Poison Ivy?” She asked, “It’s only 3 tokens to try!” Poison Ivy felt as if a rope was tied around her and slowly pulling her in. She couldn’t shake this feeling off. “Fine.” Poison responded in a nonchalant voice. She handed over 2 tokens and $25 BBQ.
Theodora handed her a padded vest, helmet, and laser gun. “Why is all of this necessary?” She asked. “It’s for your protection,” Theodora said with a wink. Poison put on the heavy vest and helmet and held the gun tightly close to her body. “Get ready!” Theodora shouted maniacally. Poison Ivy felt the ground shaking and her surroundings started to spin. The lights surrounded her and were moving around her as if she was in a whirlpool. She could barely see if she was still at the pier. “Shoot at the targets!” Theodora’s voice rang through her head. Poison couldn’t see where Theodora was anymore. The sound of cymbals grew louder and all she could see were flashing lights. Suddenly, signs with different colored lightning bolts popped in and out. Poison started pulling the trigger and shot in random directions hoping to hit a moving target. She was getting frustrated but couldn’t stop shooting. A loud chime rang as she hit her first target! It was worth 3 tickets. This gratification encouraged her to keep going. As Poison continued to shoot at the targets and raked up tons of tickets, she began to lose track of time. It was almost a compulsion to continue shooting. All she could focus on was hitting the targets. Each time she hit a target, she felt a sense of joy that could only be surpassed with hitting more targets. Her eyes began to spin trying to keep up with all the flashing targets.
Suddenly, an alarm started blaring and the lights all turned crimson. The targets vanished into the darkness. “What is going on?! THEODORA!!!” She shouted. No response. She tried to take her helmet off, but it was stuck. “Where am I?!” She wondered. This was no longer the pier. She saw a shadowy figure appear from the distance. He was tall, had horns, and wore a cape like Dracula. As he menacingly walked closer, she was able to recognize it was Zurg. He lifted up his cannon arm and pointed it right at her. “Oh FUCK!” Poison thought and began sprinting away from his aim. His yellow laser orbs began raining down towards her as she ran and jumped to avoid them. She turned around and started shooting back at him with the rest of her ammo. Laser beams were colliding and causing mini explosions. The impact from each shot felt so real. She could feel the explosions knock the breath out of her chest through her vest. Her gun clicked. It was out of lasers, and she closed her eyes. “This is it,” she thought.
When she opened her eyes, she was laying on the ground back at the pier. It was dark and looked like it had been closed for a few hours. How long was she playing this game?! She only remembered playing one round, but hours have passed. Next to her were 60 tickets, but she noticed her pockets with her tokens and BBQ$ were empty. She picked herself up, and began walking towards the house, disappearing into the darkness.
